Schedule Airtable exports to Excel.
Make your weekly Airtable export a repeatable routine. Schedule a readable Excel workbook and its attachment files to download to your computer, daily, weekly or monthly.
Automated Airtable exports for your reporting routine
Solid Backup supports daily, weekly and monthly exports to Excel, CSV and JSON. Choose a rhythm that fits how often you need a new copy. Once the plan is set up, you do not need to repeat the export steps manually for each scheduled run.
- Daily
- A local copy of frequently changing operational data, with the attachment files you need to preserve.
- Weekly
- A weekly Airtable export to Excel for a team meeting or reporting routine, with readable linked-record values.
- Monthly
- A periodic archive for comparison or internal record-keeping, with optional archive encryption.
These are periodic exports, not a live two-way sync. Editing a downloaded workbook does not continuously update your Airtable base.
Create a scheduled Airtable export
- Connect and choose the data. Authorize Airtable access in Solid Backup and select the bases you need.
- Choose a format and destination. Use Excel (.xlsx) for reporting, CSV for table data or JSON for other workflows. Select a folder on your computer.
- Set the frequency. Choose the daily, weekly or monthly schedule that fits your routine. Review the next execution time shown in the app.
- Run and verify. Try the plan manually first. Then check a completed scheduled run and open the resulting files.
If you want to keep attachment files too, include them in your local export workflow and confirm that the download completed. For sensitive archives, review the optional encryption settings.
Your computer is the export destination
Scheduled downloads run in the desktop app. Leave the computer on, keep the app running and make sure it can connect to Airtable at the scheduled time. A sleeping or powered-off computer cannot fetch a new export.
- Check the next execution time in the app.
- Make sure the destination folder remains available and has enough free space.
- Confirm your Airtable account still has the required access.
- Check execution status after the first scheduled run and after important changes.
Once exported, local Excel, CSV and JSON files can be opened offline with suitable software. Fetching fresh data and attachment files from Airtable still requires an internet connection.
Scheduling questions
Can I schedule an Excel report?
Yes. Choose Excel as the output format for the scheduled plan. The Excel export guide covers the initial export and checks.
Do I need a hosted automation service?
Solid Backup runs on your PC or Mac and saves locally. You need the desktop app running; the export is not executed by a Solid Backup cloud service.
Does an export replace my backup routine?
A recurring export creates useful copies, but recovery needs verification too. Read the Airtable backup guide and test the data you would restore.
